A server for a Bitcoin node

739 servers from 19 providers, from €5.41 a month. Prices checked 9 hours ago

A Bitcoin full node checks every block itself instead of trusting someone else’s server, and it is the base for a Lightning node, a wallet backend or an Electrum server. Disk is what you pay for: the blockchain was about 768 GB in September 2026 and grows by roughly 70 to 80 GB a year, and bitcoin.org already asks for more than 750 GB. This list starts at 1 TB of storage with 2 vCPU and 4 GB of memory, enough for Bitcoin Core plus Lightning.

Lowest bill
€5.41(The lowest bill with every charge known. Rows priced lower leave out a charge their provider doesn’t publish.)
Typical hidden fees
+€9.17/mo(29% of these servers cost more than their price tag once the required fees are added (IPv4, setup, traffic, minimum term). On those, the extra is typically €9.17 a month. The list is always sorted by the full bill.)

Memory and processor: Bitcoin Core runs with 2 GB of memory, but the first sync, which downloads and checks the whole chain, goes much faster with more memory for its cache and with SSD storage; on hard disks it can take days. Lightning (LND) adds about 2 GB of memory and a few gigabytes of disk. The 4 GB starting point covers both.

Pruned nodes: if you only need to validate and send your own transactions, Bitcoin Core’s prune mode keeps the last few gigabytes of blocks and drops the rest, so a small VPS with 20 GB of disk works. You lose the ability to serve old blocks and to run an Electrum server or block explorer. Lower the disk filter if that is your plan.

Traffic: a node with incoming connections can upload several hundred gigabytes a month to other nodes. Check the traffic included with each plan and the price per extra terabyte, or limit the upload with Bitcoin Core’s maxuploadtarget setting. Some providers forbid cryptocurrency mining, which a node is not, but read the terms if you plan to run anything beyond the node.
