A VPS for a Minecraft server
1,617 servers from 48 providers, from €5.41 a month. Prices checked 23 hours ago
A Minecraft server on your own VPS costs less than most game hosts once you pass a handful of players, and you get full control over plugins, mods and backups. Memory decides how many players fit: the Minecraft Wiki puts a vanilla server at 2 GB for up to ten players and 4 GB beyond that, before the operating system and before plugins or mods. This list starts at 2 vCPU and 8 GB, enough for a Paper server with plugins and twenty players.
- Lowest bill
- €5.41(The lowest bill with every charge known. Rows priced lower leave out a charge their provider doesn’t publish.)
- Typical hidden fees
- +€20.00/mo(31% of these servers cost more than their price tag once the required fees are added (IPv4, setup, traffic, minimum term). On those, the extra is typically €20.00 a month. The list is always sorted by the full bill.)

Some links may earn ServerDiff a commission. It never changes the order, which is the bill under the assumptions shown. How we rank
Cores: Minecraft runs each world on one main thread, so a fast core beats many slow ones. Two vCPUs cover the main thread plus chunk generation and the operating system. If players notice lag when someone is busy on a neighbouring server, switch to dedicated cores with the cores filter. Big modpacks often want 10 GB of memory or more: raise the memory filter.
VPS or game host: a Minecraft host gives you a control panel, one-click modpacks and support, and charges per gigabyte of memory, often with a low first month. A VPS needs a few commands to install Java and Paper, or a free panel such as Pterodactyl or Crafty, and then runs as many worlds as it holds. The bills here include the IPv4 address, which players connect to, and the renewal price, so you can compare with a host’s regular monthly price.
Before you buy: pick the location closest to most of your players, because ping matters more than a few euros. Players connect on port 25565, so keep the IPv4 address on. Turn on backups or copy the world folder every night: a corrupted world is the one thing you cannot rebuild.
