Dedicated servers

556 servers from 10 providers, from €5.41 a month. Prices checked 23 minutes ago

A dedicated server is a whole physical machine: every core, every gigabyte of memory and every disk is yours, with no neighbours to slow it down. That is why the price tags look so different from VPS plans, and why the extras matter more. Many dedicated servers carry a setup fee, a minimum term of one to twelve months, or a lower price only when you pay a year ahead. This list spreads all of that over the period you choose and ranks by the monthly bill.

Lowest bill
€5.41(The lowest bill with every charge known. Rows priced lower leave out a charge their provider doesn’t publish.)
Typical hidden fees
+€4.58/mo(87% of these servers cost more than their price tag once the required fees are added (IPv4, setup, traffic, minimum term). On those, the extra is typically €4.58 a month. The list is always sorted by the full bill.)

New or refurbished: a large share of cheap dedicated servers run on hardware that is a few generations old, sold as used, refurbished or from an auction. That is fine for backups, build servers and game servers, and it is why a machine with 64 GB of memory can cost less than a big VPS. The Hardware filter separates new machines from used ones, and each server lists its processor, so you can check the generation before you buy.

What to compare besides the price: the disks (two disks allow a mirror, one disk does not), the network port and how much traffic is included, remote management (IPMI or a KVM console lets you reinstall a server that no longer boots), and how long the provider takes to hand the machine over. Delivery ranges from minutes for machines in stock to several days for custom builds.

When a VPS is the better buy: if your app needs less than about 8 cores and 32 GB of memory and does not mind sharing a host, a VPS with dedicated cores costs less, starts in a minute and can be resized. A dedicated server pays off for steady heavy load, large memory, many disks, or licences counted per physical machine.
